(Alliance News) - Pregnancy testing kit developer Concepta PLC said Friday it has hired Madeleine Kennedy as chief financial officer.
Kennedy is replacing Barbara Spurrier who has stepped down immediately, with Concepta saying she hopes to spend more time on her other business interests.
Kennedy was previously interim CFO for Ieso Digital Health and PsiOxus Therapeutics, and served as CFO for Lab21 and finance director for London-listed Alliance Pharma PLC.
"She specialises in growing life science businesses and has more than 20 years' experience in the sector, both in public and private companies," Concepta said.
Chair Matthew Walls added: "We would like to thank Barbara for her kind help and support to the business as CFO since Concepta effected the reverse takeover in 2016 and we are delighted to welcome Maddy to the Concepta board."
In late March, Concepta inked an agreement with Boots UK, a subsidiary of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc, to supply its fertility test, myLotus, to the pharmacy chain.
Shares in Concepta were untraded in London on Friday but last closed at 1.70 pence each.
