LONDON (Alliance News) - IT services provider Computacenter PLC said Friday expects to meet its upgraded forecasts for 2015, despite a "substantial headwind" throughout the year from the strength of sterling against the euro.
The company had upgraded its guidance at the time of its interim results in August, at that time saying it expected its 2015 profit, adjusted to exclude amortisation and other exceptional costs, to be ahead of its original expectations due to one-off gains.
Computacenter said Friday its revenue for 2015 was flat at actual exchange rates, but increased 5% at constant currency. The company estimates that its profits have been hit by around GBP3 million as a result of the strength of sterling.
In the UK revenue rose 3%, with growth remaining consistent in its Services segment despite a significant reduction in one contract. In Germany revenue rose 14% at constant currency.
Computacenter's French business performed ahead of its original expectations for the year as a result of a strong quarter for its supply chain business, and revenue in constant currency fell 6% for the year as a whole.
"We are encouraged by the positive momentum that has built up in our German business, which bodes well for significant growth in 2016. In France we have outperformed our expectations for 2015. However, much still remains to be done to improve this position still further and to make the business sustainable. The prospects for the UK, particularly in Services, are still of growth but more modest this year," the company said in a statement.
Computacenter will publish its 2015 results on March 11.
