(Alliance News) - Columbus Energy Resources PLC on Tuesday said it has appointed Tony Hawkins as chief executive officer with immediate effect.
The oil & gas producer and explorer said Leo Koot will remain as executive chair and will continue to work alongside Hawkins on a full-time basis, in growing the business.
Hawkins has been employed as the Columbus's Legal & Commercial director since January 2018 and will now join the board, the company said. He has over 20 years of industry experience, including "significant" time working on projects and operations related to Trinidad, Columbus said.
"Tony has been instrumental over the last two years in helping plan and then execute on the company's strategy," said Koot.
"Tony's role will be to make sure the company is run efficiently (in particular the optimisation of our producing assets)," added Koot.
Columbus shares were trading 4.5% lower in London on Tuesday morning at 3.20 pence each.
