Columbus Energy Says Well AT-5X Operations At Inniss Trinity Complete

22nd Aug 2019 12:15

(Alliance News) - Columbus Energy Resources PLC on Thursday said work on the carbon dioxide pilot project at Inniss-Trinity in Trinidad is ongoing and workover operations to survey well AT-5X are complete.

Shares in Columbus were up 6.7% at 3.04 pence at mid day in London.

Columbus's work with Predator Oil & Gas Ltd on a CO2 pilot at the Inniss-Trinity incremental production service contract continues, with project operator and Columbus subsidiary Fram Exploration Trinidad Ltd having now completed workover operations to survey downhole at AT-5X to prepare for CO2 injection.

It has been determined that Predator's preferred design for CO2 injection is viable and so an interval of reservoir section, which has been chosen for the test, has been isolated from deeper reservoirs using a plug.

The workover rig used for AT-5X will now move on to well AT-4 for surveying.

Columbus Executive Chair Leo Koot said: "The Company continues to advance the CO2 pilot project. We believe the CO2 pilot project on Inniss-Trinity will give all parties a valuable insight into an alternative enhanced oil recovery mechanism for Trinidad and has the potential to transform oil & gas operations in the Inniss-Trinity field and in similar fields in Trinidad."

Shares in Predator were up 6.4% at 4.95 pence on Thursday.
