LONDON (Alliance News) - Collagen components maker Collagen Solutions PLC on Friday said it has been selected to take part in a research project to develop treatments for Parkinson's disease.
The project will be led by the Centre for Research in Medical Devices based at National University of Ireland Galway. The university has secured EUR4.0 million in funding to back the project from the European Horizon 2020 grant programme.
As a partner on the project, Collagen Solutions will receive significant funding to develop various types of medical grade collagens for investigation over the course of the project.
"Collagen Solutions is delighted to be part of such an esteemed consortium working on developing new therapies for such a devastating condition. I believe our shared success as part of the consortium provides further validation of the company's reputation for developing and suppyling consistent high quality medical grade collagen products for its international clients," said Chief Executive Stewart White.
Shares in Collagen were untraded Friday morning, having last traded at 11.50 pence.
