25th Jul 2016 08:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - Defence technology company Cohort PLC said on Monday its subsidiary Marlborough Communications Ltd has won a contract for airborne communications support with the UK Ministry of Defence.

Marlborough Communications, a provider of communications and surveillance technology, will provide support for specialist airborne communications equipment and could cover additional technology development.

The contract will last from two to six years with a minimum value of GBP900,000, depending on the options chosen by the Ministry of Defence, and a maximum value of GBP7.7 million.

Marlborough Communications will be supported by its partner Serbus Ltd, a defence communications and data company, in the delivery of the contract.

"This is another excellent win for Marlborough Communications, demonstrating its extremely strong capability in this specialist area. After many years successfully delivering land based tactical communications, we are pleased to have built on this experience enabling this, our first win in the tactical airborne environment," Cohort Chief Executive Andrew Thomis said.

Shares in Cohort were down 0.7% at 355.00 pence Monday morning.
