(Alliance News) - Cohort PLC on Friday said subsidiary Marlborough Communications Ltd has won three new contracts with the UK's Ministry of Defence.
Cohort is a defence-focused technology company based in Reading, England. It's businesses offer surveillance, communications, sonar and data services.
Marlborough's contracts are for hearing protection systems for use in close combat and have a combined value of around GBP3.8 million, Cohort said.
Cohort Chief Executive Andy Thomis said: "Together with other recent contract wins across the group, these contracts further strengthen our order book and enhance the visibility of our revenues in this financial year."
In the financial year ended April 30, Cohort's pretax profit dropped 29% to GBP7.1 million from GBP10.0 million, despite a 9.3% up-tick in revenue to GBP143.3 million from GBP131.1 million.
In financial 2021, the company's order intake rose 45% to GBP180.3 million from GBP124.4 million for an order book at the period end worth GBP242.4 million compared to GBP183.3 million year before.
Shares in Cohort were trading up 1.8% at 597.55 pence each in London on Friday morning.
