Cohort Confident For Year Ahead As Order Book Strengthens

22nd Sep 2015 10:22

LONDON (Alliance News) - Technology company Cohort PLC on Tuesday said its order book is strong and it remains confident in its prospects.

In a statement to be given at its annual general meeting, Chairman Nick Prest said Cohort's order book has improved slightly in the first half so far, up to GBP136.0 million at the end of August from GBP134.0 million at the end of its financial year in March.

This will be boosted further by Empresa de Investigação e Desenvolvimento de Electrónica SA, a Portugal-based supplier of advanced electronics, communications and command and control systems for the global defence market, which Cohort acquired for EUR19 million in August. The current order book does not include this contribution.

"Our emphasis continues to be on driving further growth both organically and by acquisition, supported by a continuing strong funding position. Overall, Cohort's order book and near-term prospects provide a good base for future progress," said Prest.

Shares in Cohort were down 0.4% to 373.50 pence on Tuesday.
