(Alliance News) - Codemasters Group Holdings PLC on Friday named one of the new game launches acquired as part of its Slightly Mad Studios Pte Ltd buy as Fast & Furious Crossroads.
Video games developer Codemasters announced the USD196 million Slightly Mad acquisition on November 28 and said at the time that the deal would bring three video game launches to Codemasters in its year ending March 2021. This included an as then unnamed game based on intellectual property "relating to a Hollywood blockbuster movie franchise".
Now, the company has revealed that this game is Fast & Furious Crossroads, developed by Slightly Mad, which will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in May 2020.
The launch was also announced by game publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe SAS, as Universal Games & Digital Platforms, the latter of which leverages IP and characters from NBCUniversal, a subsidiary of Comast Corp and owner of the rights to Fast & Furious.
Shares in Southam-based Codemasters were up 3.4% at 256.00 pence in London on Friday.
