Coca-Cola HBC Vice Chairman To Succeed Outgoing Chairman George David

28th Jan 2016 07:52

LONDON (Alliance News) - Coca-Cola HBC AG Thursday said it has promoted its current vice chairman to replace George David, who has been chairman of the company since 1981, when he retires in June.

The drinks giant said George David will retire as chairman of the company at the annual general meeting to be held in June, when he will be replaced by current Vice Chairman Anastassis David.

Coca-Cola said Anastassis David was chosen to succeed as chairman of the company thorough a succession planning process. However shareholders will have to elect him to the board at that AGM in June.

Anastassis David joined the company as a non-executive director in 2006 and was appointed as vice chairman in 2014.

"I am honoured to be appointed chairman of the board of Coca-Cola HBC. I fully endorse our values and will continue to work with my colleagues on the Board and management to deliver on our growth strategy," said Anastassis David.

Outgoing George David added: "It has been a privilege to serve as chairman of Coca-Cola HBC. After 35 years with the company, I believe this is the right time for me to hand over to a new leader. I wish Anastassis and everyone at Coca-Cola HBC every success in the future."
