CML Microsystems Profit Up As New Product Launches Boost Revenue

24th Nov 2015 12:00

LONDON (Alliance News) - Semiconductor products manufacturer CML Microsystems PLC on Tuesday said its pretax profit rose in the first half thanks to better revenue, driven by new product launches.

CML said its pretax profit for the half to the end of September was GBP1.5 million, compared to a GBP1.2 million profit a year earlier.

Revenue for the half increased to GBP11.0 million from GBP10.2 million, helped by the release of two radio-frequency components for the global industrial wireless markets and by good performances from its flash memory controller products.

"The first six months of the current trading year produced a meaningful advance in revenue and profitability against the comparable period," said Managing Director Chris Gurry.

"Whilst the recent signals from some market areas necessitate an air of caution, the board's current expectations are for a sequential revenue improvement and for a full year advance in profitability," he added.

Shares in CML were down 1.5% to 325.00 pence on Tuesday.
