(Alliance News) - Clipper Logistics PLC on Thursday said it has launched a solution to allow healthcare providers to buy personal protective equipment online.
The logistics services provider said that following the April contract award to establish a supply chain for personal protective equipment products delivery to NHS Hospital Trusts and other healthcare providers across the UK, it has developed an e-commerce platform to allow GP surgeries and adult social care providers to order the protective items online
Clipper Logistics in order to facilitate the solution - developed in collaboration with eBay, the UK National Health Service, and the Department of Health and Social Care - it has opened a new distribution centre. Clipper will receive and fulfil the orders made by the healthcare providers, which will then be delivered by Royal Mail.
"We are pleased to be able to continue to support the NHS in its efforts to ensure that PPE can be distributed effectively to the wider health and social care sector, enabling those organisations to operate safely whilst caring for those in need during these challenging times. My continued thanks go to all of our colleagues for their dedication and support, and to our partners who have worked collaboratively with us to deliver this solution," said Clipper Executive Chair Steve Parkin.
The stock was trading 1.9% lower at 284.53 pence each on Thursday afternoon in London.
