(Alliance News) - Clean Power Hydrogen PLC on Monday said the first level of the site acceptance test for its membrane-free electrolyser 110 at Northern Ireland Water's site in Belfast has now been completed.
The Doncaster, Yorkshire-based green hydrogen technology and manufacturing company said this marks the first of three sequential stages for the SAT. The first signalled that mechanical and electrical components have been checked and that the MFE's build is compliant to documentation and relevant safety standards.
Lagan Meica Ltd, the contractor to Northern Ireland Water, undertook the tests, and is now proceeding with the second level of the SAT, which involves testing the functionality of the MFE110 electrolyser and electrical installations.
Clean Power Hydrogen expects the third SAT level to complete in the first half of 2025, which it said will "mark the significant juncture of the first time scaled MFE technology is fully functioning and operational at a customer's site".
"The Level 1 SAT test of the MFE110 is a very positive first step toward the key milestone of achieving first production of hydrogen and oxygen on a customer's site using MFE scaled technology," said Chief Executive Officer Jon Duffy.
"We look forward to the continued progress of the process, culminating in what will be a proud moment for the team at BPH2 and Northern Ireland Water as our technology becomes fully functioning in the production of oxygen and hydrogen."
Shares in Clean Power Hydrogen closed down 0.7% at 7.15 pence in London on Monday.
