(Alliance News) - Clarkson PLC said Thursday it has acquired Spanish shipbroking firm Martankers I, SL, for an undisclosed amount.
London-based Clarkson - which provides shipping services - will acquire Martankers through its subsidiary Clarkson Overseas Shipbroking Ltd.
On completion, Martankers will be integrated within Clarkson's Specialised Products and Petrochemical Gases divisions, where it can benefit from the group's technology, data and research, it said.
"We believe this accretive acquisition will provide an established opening for Clarksons in Spain and brings enhanced growth opportunities. It will help us gain share in the bulk chemicals and gas markets, strengthening our global market leading position. We are excited to announce this deal, and look forward to working with the experienced team at Martankers, combining forces of expertise to deliver to our clients an enhanced service," said Chief Executive Officer Andi Case.
Shares in Clarkson were down 0.4% at 2,864.48 pence on Thursday in London.
