LONDON (Alliance News) - CityFibre Infrastructure Holdings PLC on Friday said it has seen good interest in its Edinburgh network project.
CityFibre said more than 200 local businesses in the Scottish capital have registered their interest in the 'Gig-Up Edinburgh' campaign, which allows local businesses and institutions to register interest in ultra-fast internet connectivity. This is over and above the connections committed under CityFibre's anchor tenant agreement with local service provider, Commsworld, the company said.
In addition, Commsworld has signed contracts with a number of new customers, including The Edinburgh International Conference Centre, Apex Hotels and The Law Society of Scotland, to use CityFibre CORE network.
"We are delighted that the Edinburgh CORE is off to such a strong start, and we are very encouraged by the response from businesses in our first month of pre-registration. In addition, it's great to see our partner, Commsworld, already securing new customers on the promise of the better value and quality of connectivity which our network will deliver," said CityFibre Chief Executive Greg Mesch.
