LONDON (Alliance News) - Investment company City of London Group PLC said on Thursday it has appointed Monica Velasquez as chief technology officer with effect from Monday.
Velasquez will be responsible for utilising cloud technology, as well as creating core banking platforms and architecture to support management terms, following the acquisition of Echo Financial Services Ltd, which will rebrand to Recognise.
Velasquez will be joining from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was a technology analyst for three years since 2015, and was responsible for supporting new entrant banks securing their banking or payments provider licences.
"I am delighted that we have been able to bring Monica on board to support the group and particularly Jason Oakley and the Recognise team. Not only does she have a quite incredible academic and technical background, Monica has unique experience of taking new entrants through the licence application process," said Chief Executive Officer Michael Goldstein.
Shares in City of London Group were untraded on Thursday, last quoted at 127.10 pence.
