(Alliance News) - Cineworld Group PLC on Tuesday said it will reopen its cinemas in the UK and US from July 31 as it announced a number of Hollywood movies scheduled to be screened.
The FTSE 250-listed cinema chain operator - which closed all its sites in March - added it will continue to reopen sites in other markets but noted that any upcoming re-openings remain subject to the relevant government guidelines.
Earlier in June, Cineworld said its cinemas in Poland and Bulgaria would open their doors on July 3, Israel on July 9, with site re-openings in Hungary and Romania expected to be in the week of July 3. Sites in Slovakia and the Czech Republic re-opened last Friday.
On Tuesday, it said it will implement health & safety measures which include contactless payments, sanitization procedures, new social distancing protocols, and seating capacity limits.
"Movie fans around the world continue to be excited by the strong slate of summer films ahead. Cineworld looks forward to welcoming these movie-goers back to our cinemas next month and believes that they will once again be immersed in the timeless theatrical experience they know and love."
Movies scheduled to be screened include Tenet, Mulan, A Quiet Place Part II, Greenland, and Antebellum as well as a special re-release of Christopher Nolan's Inception on IMAX.
Cineworld stock was trading 2.3% higher at 58.62 pence each on Tuesday morning in London, but 73% lower than at the start of the year.
