LONDON (Alliance News) - Cinema operator Cineworld Group PLC on Tuesday said trading for 2015 met its expectations, with revenue growth across the business over the course of the year.
The group's pro-forma total revenue increased 12% in the year to the end of December, with box office revenue up 12%, retail revenue rising 14% and other income up 13%. The pro-forma numbers include Cinema City, the central and eastern Europe-based business that Cineworld acquired in February 2014.
Cineworld said its fourth quarter was boosted by the release of three successful films, Bond instalment 'Spectre', 'Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2' and 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens', the latter on its way to becoming the highest-grossing movie of all time.
This helped the group boost its revenue in the fourth quarter and Cineworld said it was optimistic on the slate for 2016.
