LONDON (Alliance News) - Cinema operator Cineworld Group PLC on Thursday said revenue grew year-on-year in the first 19 weeks of 2016 amid good performances from a number of film releases.
Cineworld said revenue for the 19 weeks to May 12 grew 9.8% year-on-year, with Box Office revenue up 7.6%, retail revenue up 12% and other income growing 18%.
The company said its key releases during the period included "Deadpool", "Batman vs Superman", "Captain America: Civil War" and a number of family titles "Zootropolis", "Kung Fu Panda 3" and "The Jungle Book".
Cineworld said its remains confident on meeting market expectations for the half year to the end of June, results for which it will publish on August 11.
