Christie Group Benefits From "Resurgent" Trading

14th Sep 2015 08:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Christie Group PLC on Monday welcomed "resurgent" trading in the wake of the UK's General Election in May, as the professional services business reported higher revenue and profit in the first half.

The AIM-listed professional services business, which focuses on the leisure, retail and care sectors, said it made a GBP1.4 million pretax profit in the six months ended June 30, compared with the GBP638,000 recorded in the corresponding half the prior year, driven up as revenue grew to GBP31.7 million from GBP29.4 million.

"Our first-half performance demonstrates a continuation of the progress we are making in a market place which offers plenty of opportunity for the future and immediate encouragement for the remainder of 2015," Chief Executive David Rugg said in a statement.

The company increased its interim dividend to 1.0 pence from 0.75p.

Shares in Christie were up 2.3% at 136.50 pence on Monday morning.
