China Chaintek United Profits Up 8.9% As It Signs 15 New Customers

LONDON (Alliance News) - China Chaintek United Corporation Limited Thursday said pretax profit rose 8.9% in the first half, reflecting a strong performance across the business.

The provider of logistics services to manufacturers of consumer goods in China posted pretax profit of RMB132.8 million for the period ended 30 June, up from RMB121.9 million a year earlier, while revenue increased 5.6% to RMB167.7 million from RMB158.8 million in 2012.

Chaintek said it has continued to win new business in both the logistics and inventory solutions segments.

During the period, 15 new customers were added, with 14 in the logistics service business in Jinjiang City, covering the sectors of shoes and apparel, food, building materials and automobile parts.

The 15th customer operates in the inventory-solutions business in the shoe sector from a regional distribution centre in Guangzhou.

The inventory solution division, which provides warehousing services, saw revenue increase 7.8% to RMB23.7 million, as the number of customers increased to six during the period. The logistics division increased revenue to RMB144.1 million, up 5.2%.

Cash stood at RMB249.1 million, up from RMB159.1 million a year before.

Chaintek shares were trading at 230.00 pence Thursday morning, up 2.50p or 1.1%.
