China And Britain Sign Business Deals Worth GBP14 Billion

London (Alliance News) - China and Britain have signed business deals worth GBP14 billion (USD24 billion), British Prime Minister David Cameron said Tuesday at a joint press conference with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.

"Ours is truly a partnership for growth, reform and innovation," said Cameron, who was also keen to emphasize Britain's economic attractiveness over EU partners France and Germany.

Bilateral trade was at record levels and British exports to China had reached 1 billion pounds per month and were growing faster than France or Germany's, he said.

"These figures prove once again that Britain is the most open economy in the EU, the most welcoming to Chinese investment, including in our nuclear industry and our infrastructure, and I'm determined to keep it that way.
