LONDON (Alliance News) - Communications and sports-marketing company Chime Communications PLC Thursday it has made a good start to 2014, with trading in line with expectations boosted by a number of new client wins.
In an interim management statement for 2014 to date, Chime said 77% of total group operating income for 2014 is now committed, better than at the same point last year when 75% was committed.
New clients so far this year include housebuilder Crest Nicholson PLC and telecommunications business TalkTalk Telecom Group PLC.
It said 2014 is a very important year for its Sport and Entertainment division with three major events - the Winter Olympics, the FIFIA World Cup and the Commonwealth Games. Chime said the fees generated by the Winter Olympics in Sochi, whilst relatively small, were in line with expectations.
Chime said its Advertising and Marketing Services division has continued its double-digit operating income growth so far in 2014, while focusing on consolidating and developing the new business wins from 2013.
However, Chime said although its healthcare division has been affected by client delays, it still expects good income growth from the arm in 2014. The rate of growth is likely to be moderate from 2013 levels, Chime added.
Chime Communications shares were quoted up 0.3% at 357 pence Thursday midday.
