29th Sep 2016 10:03

LONDON (Alliance News) - Countermeasures maker Chemring Group PLC on Thursday said it has won a AUD18 million contract with the Australian Department of Defence to provide its Resolve 3 electronic warfare manpack system.

Resolve 3 is the latest iteration of Chemring's Resolve portable electronic surveillance systems.

"Resolve 3 represents the latest in man-portable electronic surveillance capability, and I am delighted that Chemring Australia has won this contract. This is the largest award that the group has received for the Resolve system, growing Resolve's user-base to nine countries and builds on Chemring's position as a market leader in electronic warfare," said Chemring Chief Executive Michael Flowers.

Chemring shares were up 4.9% to 143.75 pence on the news on Thursday.
