Chemring Revenue Grows As Order Book Boosted By Weak Pound

21st Nov 2016 08:10

LONDON (Alliance News) - Defence countermeasures maker Chemring Group PLC on Monday said it anticipates its results for the year to the end of October will meet its expectations.

Chemring said revenue in the fourth quarter to the end of October was GBP188.0 million, up 51% year-on-year thanks to the ramp-up of a key ammunition contract in the Middle East. Revenue for the full year to October 31 was GBP477.0 million, up from GBP377.3 million.

The group said its order book at the end of October was GBP593.0 million, up from GBP569.5 million a year prior, boosted significantly by the weakness of the pound against the dollar.

Chemring will publish final results on January 19.
