(Alliance News) - Chariot Ltd on Friday said it was looking forward to expanding its work beyond Mauritania, as it entered a partnership to collaborate on green hydrogen pilot projects in Morocco.
Chariot is a London-based, African-focused company working on energy transition projects. It has three business streams: transitional gas, transitional power, and green hydrogen.
The company said it has agreed to collaborate with Oort Energy Ltd, a green hydrogen systems manufacturer, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University to run initial proof-of-concept projects, while also exploring the possibility of implementing large-scale green hydrogen and ammonia production.
Chariot plans to host one of the pilot projects at the research and development facility in Jorf Lasfar, Morrocco.
"Testing our unique electrolyser technology in this setting will be a key step in demonstrating its capabilities whilst also assessing its efficiency, durability and cost structure for implementation in large scale projects," said Oort Chief Executive Officer Nick van Dijk.
"We are very pleased to be working alongside Oort and UM6P," added Adonis Pouroulis, CEO of Chariot.
"Chariot's ambition is to become one of the world's leading green hydrogen producers and ensuring access to reliable, cost-efficient electrolyser capacity will be a vital part of our pathway to production."
Chariot shares were trading 2.4% higher at 14.75 pence each in London on Friday morning.
