(Alliance News) - Character Group PLC on Friday said it anticipates maintaining sales and adjusted pretax profit at similar levels to the prior financial year, despite continued "challenging" market conditions.
The Surrey, England-based toy, games and giftware company, said sales in the four months leading up to Christmas 2024 were consistent with the same period in the previous year.
For the financial year ending August 31, the board expects sales and adjusted pretax profit to remain comparable to financial 2024 levels, when revenue stood at GBP123.4 million and pretax profit at GBP6.6. million.
Character Group expressed optimism about its product portfolio for 2025, which will be showcased at the London Toy Fair next week and the Nuremberg Toy Fair shortly afterward. The company said customer previews of its 2025 ranges have been "very successful" and it is confident the products will perform well.
The company said it "continues to benefit" from a "robust" balance sheet, a "healthy" net cash position, and substantial unused working capital facilities.
Shares in Character Group were down 3.3% at 249.44 pence each in London on Friday morning.
