Ceres Power Holdings Says Making Progress On Technology

28th Nov 2013 09:46

LONDON (Alliance News) - Ceres Power Holdings PLC Thursday said it had presented significant technical progress on its fuel cell technology at the recent Okinawa Fuel Cell Conference in Japan, supporting internal test results showing an increase in efficiency and accelerated testing of steel cell technology.

It said it had achieved an increase in efficiency of more than 50% gross electrical efficiency in its fuel cell module and was working to increase this further. It has also accelerated testing of its steel cell technology, "which shows robustness to thermal cycle and repeated emergency stops equivalent to twice the expected required design lifetime."

"These findings corroborate the significant advantages of the Ceres' Steel Cell fuel cell technology over traditional solid oxide fuel cell designs," it said in a statement.

Ceres Power shares were up 0.6% at 7.9 pence Thursday morning.
