Ceramic Fuel Cells Says Improvements Boost BlueGEN Efficiency

30th Jun 2014 09:26

LONDON (Alliance News) - Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd said Monday that recent patented improvements to its BlueGEN product have significantly reduced stack degradation rates, improving its efficiency over the life of the stack.

The fuel-cell-based manufacturer and developer said in-house and in-field testing demonstrated a reduction of up to 70% of the average degradation rate experienced in current customer BlueGEN gas-to-electricity generators.

Ceramic Fuel Cells said that these improvements have also been validated in a BlueGEN operating at a site of CFU's key German customer, EWE, over the past six months.

The decrease in the degradation rates significantly improves the efficiency of the product over the life of the stack, said CFC. The patented improvements are now being introduced into the supply chain and will then be incorporated into routine stack production at the Heinsberg assembly facility.

Ceramic Fuel Cells is an Australian fuel cell technology company, based in Melbourne.

Shares in Ceramic Fuel Cells were trading 2.93% higher at 0.772 pence per share Monday morning.
