LONDON (Alliance News) - Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited said in an update Thursday that approval from the regional government state of Hesse for the installation of its BlueGEN micro power plants was a step towards successfully penetrating national markets in Germany.
Ceramic Fuel Cells generates fuel cell-based heat and power generators. The regional government of Hesse, which surrounds Frankfurt, have supported the installation of its BlueGEN micro power plants under a state-wide subsidy programme. One plant has already been commissioned, and additional plants are expected to be installed in Hesse, the company said.
In the UK, Ceramic Fuel Cells teamed up with E.ON SE, HOMA Software and Ideal Heating to show the application of fuel cell based micro combined heat and power appliances in homes. The first 40 of these units, as financed by the European Union's SOFT-PACT project, have been installed into properties in Germany and the UK. A second load of 40 has been delivered to Ideal Heating's manufacturing plant in Hull.
Shares in Ceramic were trading down 1.1% at 2.20 pence Thursday morning.
