LONDON (Alliance News) - Centrica PLC Friday said it has appointed Richard Haythornthwaite as its new non-executive chairman, succeeding Roger Carr on January 1.
The search for a new chairman was led by Mary Francis, a senior independent director.
"He brings invaluable industry experience from his time at BP, a deep knowledge of consumer relations from MasterCard and a proven record of government and regulatory body engagement from Network Rail," Carr said in a statement.
Centrica shares Friday closed at 366 pence, down 0.3 pence, or 0.1%.
