(Alliance News) - CentralNic Group PLC on Friday said it has been awarded a project by Dot London Domains Ltd, a subsidiary of London & Partners.
CentralNic's contract with Dot London Domains is for the supply of technical registry services. This new project marks a further addition to CentralNic's expanding portfolio of geographic top-level domains.
The internet service provider explained that London was one of the first cities to get its own TLD. Through owning and using a .London domain name, organisations and individuals can boost the profile of their websites through a closer and clear association with the London's brand, it asserted.
"Being a London-headquartered company ourselves makes this project all the more important for us and we are looking forward to working with the .London team and playing a vital role in helping to reinforce London's cultural and iconic status online," said Gavin Brown, head of CentralNic's Registry Services.
CentralNic shares were trading 1.1% higher in London on Friday morning at 84.84 pence each.
