CentralNic Says Shares Boosted By Google Alphabet Domain Move

13th Aug 2015 12:00

LONDON (Alliance News) - Internet platform domain business CentralNic Group PLC on Thursday said the rise in its share price appears to have been driven by the decision by Alphabet Inc, the new holding company formed by internet giant Google Inc, using the .xyz domain name for its new site.

The company said that while the announcement from Google is positive, the growing interest in .xyz had been expected.

The company said it continues to trade in line with market expectations.

Its shares were up 26% to 61.35 pence on Thursday.
