CentralNic New Domain .Ink Launches For Trademark Owners

LONDON (Alliance News) - CentralNic Group PLC said that its new top level domain name .ink will be available for trademark owners to acquire from Monday, and for any one wishing to secure a domain name June 5.

A top level domain name is the suffix of an internet address such as .com or .net which are designated to approved organisations by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.

The company said this domain name has a potential audience in the tattoo industry, the ink industry and the press.

CentralNic has a further 24 new top level domains that are currently in the process of contracting with ICANN. This includes .bar, .college, .fans and .website, .host, .press and .space through Radix.

It has an additional 24 top level domains in contention, including .app, .blog, .mail, .school and .mail, which go on auction from July to February 2015.

"Together with our partners, we have a substantial funds to ensure that a large number of the auctions go our way, and we secure some of the best domains remaining to distribute exclusively on our platform," said Chief Executive Ben Crawford in a statement Monday.

Shares in CentralNic were trading down 2.6% at 74.00 pence Monday afternoon.
