LONDON (Alliance News) - Central Asia Metals PLC Thursday said the Kounrad solvent extraction electrowinning copper recovery plant in Kazakhstan produced 14% more copper in the first-quarter of 2014 than in the corresponding quarter the previous year.
In a statement, Central Asia Metals said Kounrad produced 1,905 tonnes of cooper in the first-quarter of 2014, compared with 1,675 tonnes in the corresponding quarter of 2013.
Central Asia Metals said production continued as scheduled during the winter months, and remains in line with anticipated seasonal variations in output as well as with its 2014 full-year production target of 11,000 tonnes.
Sales increased to 1,771 tonnes from 1,503 tonnes.
Central Asia Metals said Kounrad's total copper production output since the start of operations at the end of April 2012 has now exceeded 19,000 tonnes.
Central Asia Metals shares were Thursday quoted at 167.31 pence, down 1.0%.
