Central Asia Metals Picks Shanta Director As Chief Operating Officer

27th Apr 2018 10:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - Copper, zinc and lead miner Central Asia Metals PLC said on Friday it has appointed Scott Yelland as chief operating officer.

He will be joining from AIM-listed gold mining firm Shanta Gold Ltd, where he worked for around three years since 2015, leaving as chief operating officer. Prior to that he was Vice President of Operations at Konkola Copper Mines PLC for a year from 2014 to 2015, and chief operating officer at Forte Energy for two and a half years from 2011 to 2014.

"The board is delighted that Scott has agreed to join us. His appointment strengthens our technical capabilities, and follows those of Nigel Robinson as Chief Executive Officer and Gavin Ferrar as Chief Financial Officer. I am confident we have a very strong senior management team that is well placed to continue to develop our business," said Chairman Nick Clarke.

Shares in Central Asia Metals were up 2.8% at 292.56 pence on Friday.
