Centamin Appoints COO Andrew Pardy As New Chief Executive

15th Jan 2015 07:48

LONDON (Alliance News) - Centamin PLC Thursday said it has appointed Andrew Pardy as the new chief executive of the company.

Pardy has been the company's chief operating officer since 2012 and has over 25 years experience in the mining and exploration industry, the gold miner said. He has held senior positions in Africa, Australia and around the globe with the likes of AngloGold Ashanti, Guinior Gold Corp and Kalgoorlie Consolidated Gold Mines.

"Since joining the company, Andrew has been a driving force behind Centamin's development from a junior exploration company into one of the largest gold producers in North Africa," said Chairman Josef El-Raghy.

El-Raghy has been acting as interim chief executive and will remain chairman of Centamin.

"Under his careful stewardship, Sukari has grown into one of the world's leading gold mines and the business has diversified into exciting proven gold regions including Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire and Ethiopia," El-Raghy added about Pardy.
