LONDON (Alliance News) - Glasgow football team Celtic PLC on Tuesday said it is looking for a new financial director following the resignation of Eric Riley after more than 21 years in the role.
Celtic said that Riley was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and prostate cancer in 2011.
Riley will become a non-executive director to help with the transition to a new finance director.
He will remain in that role until the end of June 2016.
"We would like to thank Eric for his huge commitment to the company as financial director. Eric has served Celtic with distinction for over 21 years and will continue to do so until his retirement from the company. During his time here, he has played a vital role in the development and growth of the company and has also made a very meaningful and unstinting contribution to the successful promotion of the game in Scotland," Chairman Ian Bankier said in a statement.
Celtic shares were down 0.3% at 75.0251 pence on Tuesday afternoon.
