Carpetright Deputy Chairman Sheila Noakes To Retire In September

16th Jul 2014 12:17

LONDON (Alliance News) - Carpet and floor-coverings retailer Carpetright PLC Wednesday confirmed that Deputy Chairman Sheila Noakes will retire at the company's annual general meeting in September after 13 years on the company's board.

Last month, Carpetright said Lord Harris of Peckham will remain as non-executive chairman until a new chairman has been appointed. It said he may remain on the board in a non-executive role even when an appointment is found.

The company also said at the time that Noakes was continuing to lead the search for a new chairman and would step down from the board once an appointment had been made.

In its statement Wednesday, Carpetright said Noakes will not seek re-election at the company's annual general meeting on September 4, and will retire from the board following the meeting.

Carpetright shares were down 0.1% at 520.66 pence Wednesday afternoon.
