(Alliance News) - Carnival PLC on Tuesday said its cruise line Princess Cruises has sold two ships as part of parent company Carnival Corp's plan to accelerate the removal of less efficient ships from its fleet.
The FTSE 250-listed cruiser operator said the Sun Princess and Sea Princess ships, which hold 2,000 guests each, will be sold to an unnamed buyer and their scheduled itineraries will be cancelled. Sun Princess sailings from December 28 through to August 14, 2021 and Sea Princess sailings from December 23 through November 9, 2021 will be cancelled.
Carnival said guests who have booked affected trips will receive information on how to book another Princess Cruise when operations resume and those who prefer a refund will be accommodated.
Shares in Carnival were trading 1.2% lower at 883.00 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
