(Alliance News) - FTSE 250-listed cruise operator Carnival PLC said Thursday that its subsidiary P&O Cruises has confirmed an extension to its pause in operations, with all sailings cancelled until early 2021.
All Caribbean cruises have been cancelled until the end of January 2021 as well as all cruises to and from Southampton being cancelled through February.
Cruise ships Arcadia and Aurora have been cancelled through to the end of their spring world cruises.
"With evolving restrictions on travel from the UK, unfortunately it is necessary to cancel these itineraries. These further cancellations vary according to ship as well as complexity and length of itineraries, advice and guidance regarding ports of call and current air availability for fly/cruises," said Paul Ludlow, president of P&O Cruises.
On Thursday last week, Carnival's unit Costa Cruises SpA said it will gradually increase the number of ships that will resume operations, following the restart of Costa Deliziosa and Costa Diadema in September.
The group noted that Costa cruises in winter season 2020-2021 will be open to European citizens residing in the countries included in the decree of the Italian government.
Shares in Carnival were down 2.9% at 998.00 pence on Thursday in London.
