(Alliance News) - Carnival PLC on Thursday said its German subsidiary AIDA Cruises will restart sailing operations in August.
The cruise ship operator said that following a pause that that commenced in March, AIDAperla will start sailing on August 5 from Hamburg, followed by AIDAmar from Rostock-Warnemunde on August 12 and AIDAblu from Kiel on August 16.
Carnival added that it has introduced a series of health & safety measures which include the completion of digital health questionnaires prior to the cruise, temperature measurements before check-in for guests and crew, and physical distancing guidelines. Other measures include increased cleaning & disinfection measures and the provision of 24/7 medical care onboard.
Looking ahead, it said: "AIDA Cruises is already working intensively on the next steps. Depending on the opening of further European ports for cruise ships, the first foreign destinations could be integrated into the itinerary."
The stock was trading 5.9% higher at 991.12 pence each on Thursday in London.
