Carnival Cruise Line extends pause in all US operations until July

7th Apr 2021 10:12

(Alliance News) - Carnival PLC notified customers on Wednesday of additional cruise cancellations and the extension of a pause in all US operations until June 30.

Booked customers and travel advisors are being contacted of cancellations and options for a future cruise credit or full refunds.

To provide flexibility for customers booked on July cruises, Carnival is extending payment deadlines for all July sailings to May 31, with the ability to cancel without penalty.

"We know that this is very disappointing to our guests who continue to be eager to sail, and we remain committed to working with the Administration and the CDC to find a workable solution that best serves the interest of public health," said Carnival Cruise Line President Christine Duffy.

"We are asking that the cruise industry be treated on par with the approach being taken with other travel and tourism sectors, as well as US society at large."

Shares in Carnival were trading 4.5% higher at 1,783.60 pence in London. The company releases first quarter results at 1500 BST on Wednesday.
