(Alliance News) - Carnival PLC on Monday said it is cancelling all remaining cruises in November for the six ships operating from PortMiami and Port Canaveral.
The cruise operator explained that after the US Centers for Disease Control opted to extended its no-sail order for cruise operations until the end of October, it has cancelled all but its PortMiami and Port Canaveral cruises for the rest of 2020 but "as now determined that November 2020 operations will not be feasible".
Carnival is still working on protocols and procedures that would allow its to resume operations and has designated Miami and Port Canaveral as its first two homeports for embarkations. At the moment, cruises scheduled for December from those two homeports are still in place while the company considers its options.
Guests booked on cruises in December out of Miami and Port Canaveral can still voluntarily cancel their reservation and get the same offer as other guests hurt by Covid-19 including a combination of future cruise credit plus onboard credit or a full refund.
Carnival also cancelled five cruises which were planned to operate from Sydney, Australia from January 16 to February 8, 2021. They are eligible for the same offer of combined cruise and onboard credit or a refund.
Shares in Carnival were down 3.1% at 1,0049.71 pence in London on Monday afternoon.
