Carillion Wins GBP80 Million Tower Works Regeneration Project In Leeds

19th Oct 2015 06:20

LONDON (Alliance News) - Construction and support services company Carillion PLC on Monday said it has secured a deal with the UK Homes and Communities Agency to handle the regeneration work at Tower Works in Holbeck Urban Village in the South Bank area of Leeds.

The site covers 1.17 hectares and is a former industrial location. Carillion will deliver 90,000 square feet of commercial office space, 24,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and bar space and a number of residential units at the site.

The GBP80.0 million deal is expected to start in spring 2016, subject to a site-wide masterplan being approved.

"We are very pleased to have signed this contract with Home and Communities Agency, having worked closely with them and Leeds City Council on this important regeneration project," said Richard Howson, Carillion's chief executive.

"Together, we have developed a vision for the regeneration of one of the most important landmark sites in Leeds that will create a sustainable community, which meets the aspirations of all stakeholders," he added.
