Carillion Wins GBP30 Million Cable System Deal For Offshore Windfarm

LONDON (Alliance News) - Carillion PLC said on Monday it won a GBP30 million contract to design and build a twin-circuit onshore cable system on behalf of Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm Ltd.

The cable system will be 47 kilometres long, making it the longest HV connection for an offshore windfarm. It will travel from Weybourne to Necton in Norfolk.

Dudgeon is a joint venture between Statoil ASA, Statkraft and Masdar, under which the companies will invest GBP1.5 billion per year the Dudgeon offshore wind farm, which is set to provide energy to power 410,000 homes per year.

"We are delighted to have been selected for this complex contract to deliver the onshore cabling project for the Dudgeon Offshore Windfarm," said Carillion Network Services Managing Director Graham Carr.

Carillion shares were down 0.1% to 303.80 pence on Tuesday.
