(Alliance News) - Caption & Regional PLC announced on Friday that it has signed a deal with the Whittington Health NHS Trust to open the first of 40 new community diagnostic centres.
The London-based property assets manager said it had signed a 15-year lease agreement with Whittington Health NHS Trust to open a community diagnostics centre at The Mall shopping centre in the Wood Green area of London.
The centre will open in summer 2022 and will initially offer x-ray, ultrasound, ophthalmology and phlebotomy services, with future plans to increase the range of services that can be offered.
It is the first of 40 new community diagnostic centres that will be opened across England by the NHS in a range of settings, from local shopping centres to football stadiums.
Chief Executive Lawrence Hutchings said: "This partnership with Whittington Health NHS Trust is the beginning of an exciting long term relationship for us both to improve the range of services we provide to this diverse and vibrant community. Importantly this marks another significant step forward in the execution of our community shopping centre strategy, realising a whole new set of services at Wood Green that have the potential to be replicated across the portfolio."
Shares in Capital & Regional were down 1.7% at 59.00 pence on Friday in London, while its Johannesburg shares ended flat at ZAR12.50.
