LONDON (Alliance News) - Capita PLC said Monday it has been selected as a customer services partner for German telecoms company mobilcom-debitel AG, in a deal expected to be worth GBP197 million.
FTSE-100 listed outsourcer Capita said it will enter a seven-year contract to provide customer services for mobilcom, beginning on March 1, 2017. Capit will take on mobilcom-debitel's existing customer service sites in Germany, including the transfer of 650 staff.
The customer services operation will include the acceleration of the use of digital channels and is designed to focus on customer outcomes, rather than a "transactional" basis, said Capita.
"Capita is delighted to become mobilcom-debitel's strategic customer services partner. Capita will deliver a transformed customer service operation focussed on continuing to deliver customer excellence to mobilcom-debitel's existing and new customers and promoting its digital lifestyle products," said Andy Parker, chief executive of Capita.
"This new transformation partnership with a new client for Capita Europe demonstrates the interest and growing demand for different customer service outsourcing models. We have a growing pipeline of both traditional and transformation customer service opportunities in Germany and Switzerland which will provide a good platform for Capita Europe to meet our growth aspirations," added Parker.
Shares in Capita were down 1.0% at 572.00 pence Monday morning.
