LONDON (Alliance News) - Capita PLC on Tuesday said it has been recommended as shared corporate services provider for five district councils, with the contract expected to be valued at GBP139.0 million over nine years.
The FTSE 100 outsourcer won the backing of the councils' officers to provide corporate services spanning revenues and benefits, customer services, human resources, IT and procurement.
The contract, which would be between Capita and South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse, Hart, Havant and Mendip District councils, would see the outsourcing company introduce a shared services platform with the "flexibility" to meet the individual needs of each council.
"Formal appointment as preferred bidder is subject to approval from each of the councils' cabinets. The councils' staff are being informed of this recommendation today," Capita said.
Shares in Capita were up 1.4% at 1,172.00 pence on Tuesday afternoon.
