(Alliance News) - Capita PLC, which provides outsourcing services to government and corporate clients, said Tuesday secured two-year extensions with the UK Department for Work & Pensions worth GBP112 million and Department of Communities in Northern Ireland worth GBP33 million to deliver Personal Independence Payment assessments.
PIP helps people with a long-term condition or disability by providing additional financial support.
Capita is contracted by the two UK government departments to deliver functional assessments of claimants and produce reports which are reviewed by government case managers alongside other evidence.
"These contract extensions are testament to the commitment of our healthcare team, our consistently strong operational performance, and the strength of our longstanding relationship with government," said Chief Executive Officer Jon Lewis.
Shares in Capita were trading 0.4% lower at 118.25 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
